In the wake of Hurricane Ike, Grand Turk Islanders are in desperate need of simple items many take for granted, such as clothing, blankets, canned food and toiletries. While monetary donations can be made through the Red Cross as we set up our own fund, we are accepting donations of goods in the meantime. Also, we witnessed firsthand the good work from the volunteers at ShelterBox. The residents of Grand Turk will never forget your generosity.

Any donation you can make will go a long way in helping the victims of Hurricane Ike get back on their feet. Ship what you can to us, and we'll make sure it gets in the right hands on Grand Turk. Donated clothing and linen, if used, must be clean, food items must be non-perishable and all toiletries must be new and packaged.

Donations through the Red Cross can be made by going to the following link:

Carnival Cruise ship DESTINY is scheduled to dock at Grand Turk Oct 8th. They willbe the first to dock. I spoke to them today and was told that I could bring an extra suitcase with releif supplies, toiletries etc for the residents so you should be able to do that also. There may even be an opportunity to do some volunteer work while docked for those who want to do that.

we are set to cruise on crown princess ship of Princess Cruise lines Nov. 2 from Fort Lauderdale Fl. and visit Grand turk on Nov 7 2008. Wondering if there is a way to bring donations along and deliver them directly and to whom? If you have any information we would appreciate it. Not even sure if the boat will still go to the island after such a tragic event............thank you, Jane Fleegel
